What is it?

Information from the UK website:

BENEFITS

Transform your look in one daring stroke. Its specially designed felt tip fulfils your every wish. The ‘Corseted’ tip with a flexor system helps you to follow the natural contours of your eyes, boldly extending to the ends of the lashes. It’s showtime!

Ink Tank Tip: Releases ink over your lash line for perfect line control.

Flexor system: Adapts to every movement to modulate the thickness of the line in one effortless sweep.

Divine Black formula: Deep black and shiny finish.

With the precision tip of your SUPER LINER SUPERSTAR, apply from the inner to the outer edges of your upper lash line.

As you can see from the description, this is a felt tip liquid eyeliner from L’Oreal that claims to be deep black and shiny. It is supposed to give you super precision and it will glide over your eyes super easily. As you can see in the picture below it is definitely shiny and not matte.

How does it work?

It has a pretty good formula that dispenses well when I apply it and it gives a nice, crisp line. It was fairly easy to create a pointed wing like I use to do and it wasn’t messy to use at all. It did tickle my eye a little bit though because I’m used to using pencils and not any felt tip liners. The applicator isn’t too hard nor too flexible so you have very good control when applying it to your eyes. It is very pointy so it makes it easy to create a sharp wing on the outer corners of my eyes.

I haven’t read anything about it claiming to be smudge proof or waterproof and I’m glad they haven’t claimed it, because it really isn’t at all. My eyes do not water very often but the lower part of the wings were super smudged and faded by the end of the day. I didn’t really touch my eyes at all either but the black had faded a bit. Granted, I had been wearing it for about thirteen hours at that point. It does last for a long time but it could use a touch up around the ten hour mark.

Apart from all that, I’m quite happy with the liner overall. It doesn’t feel like it’s sitting on top of the skin like how some liquid liners does and it was very comfortable to wear. After a good few wears I noticed it was irritating my eyes a little bit though so I have given it a break. My eyes were stinging and it was not a good feeling at all.

So to sum it up:

+ It’s really black
+ It’s easy to apply
+ It’s drugstore and fairly cheap

– It smudges and fades fairly easily
– It’s not cruelty free
– It eventually started irritating my eyes

I will continue using it now and then until it’s empty or I get tired of it, but I will not repurchase it since it is not cruelty free.

Have you tried this liner?

My 2017 absolute favorites

Make up & Skincare

L’Oreal Pure Clay Illuminating Cleansing Gel

This is a clay gel cleanser and it works really well! It shares a lot of properties with it’s clay mask sibling and I love it. It always works so well for me. You can read my review of it by clicking here.

DSC_0049

ELF Lip Exfoliator

This is basically just a lip scrub in lipstick form. It’s very convenient and easy to use and it always leaves my lips feeling soft and refreshed. You can read my review on it by clicking here.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in “Galactic Mauve”.

This is my all time ever favorite lipstick. The color is perfect, it’s not too flashy nor too dull and it works for every occasion. I use it as often as I can and I wouldn’t trade it for anything ( I think). You can read my full review on it by clicking here.

IsaDora Hypo Allergenic Mascara in “Black”

This is an allergy friendly mascara that works fairly well in keeping my lashes looking good. I have tried other non allergy friendly mascaras that work a lot better but they also irritate my eyes so I’d rather feel comfortable while wearing it instead. You can read my review of this by clicking here.

Books

The Lunar Chronicles series

These books are written by Marissa Meyer and are all about the android Cinder and her journey through life. We meet lots of interesting characters and there is a lot of conflict, and even romance! I was introduced to the series by Michala and I instantly fell in love with it. I don’t think I have ever read four books as fast as I read these. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves young adult fiction.

The Icewall trilogy

This is a trilogy set in the Dragonlance universe and it’s written by Douglas Niles. We follow the stories of Kerrick the Elf, Moreen the Arktos woman and Grimwar Bane, the ogre king. The first two books are really good, and while the last lacks a bit of the spark the first two has, it’s still pretty solid.

Dragon Age: Asunder

11949576

This novel is my favorite out of the five Dragon Age novels that I have read, with The Masked Empire in a close second spot. In this one we get more backstory on one of my absolute favorite characters from the universe; Cole. He has always been a mystery and it feels so.. satisfying to finally know more? Yeah, it does. It’s a good read for anyone who is a fan of the video game series and wants to know more of the lore.

Games

Stardew Valley

header

Stardew Valley is a farming/life simulator of sorts, heavily inspired by Harvest Moon and maybe games like Rune Factory. You inherit a farm, have to grow crops and collect items to restore the community center, or sell out to Joja Corp and buy everything instead. There’s relationships, a sense of accomplishment and it’s a game that is very easy to get addicted to.

The elder scrolls V: Skyrim

header (1)

Ah, then there’s this, a game where I have invested thousands of hours into the original. I made the mistake of noticing I hadn’t played the special edition too much on pc so I didn’t have any of the achievements.. Which meant that now I definitely have to get them… I love skyrim, I’m just not ready to lose my life to it again. It’s an amazing adventure role playing game and I would recommend it to anyone, well, anyone who is interested at least. I don’t really know what to say about it, I have talked about Skyrim a lot before in the game section of my blog.

The elder scrolls online

header (2)

The Elder Scrolls Online, also known as ESO, is an online multiplayer roleplaying game published by Zenimax and Bethesda, and it is in the Elder Scrolls universe. The gameplay takes place in many locations used in earlier games which gives the player a sense of belonging, a sense of recognition. Areas might look a bit different since it is set in a different era but you can still recognize things here and there. I wrote a post about it and the Morrowind expansion a while ago, you can read the whole thing here. It’s a great game, and pretty much never ending.

Fallout Shelter

header (3)

Fallout Shelter is a mobile game and it’s like a vault simulator. You run a vault, you build rooms, train vault dwellers, go on quests and craft items. You’re the overseer and everyone does your bidding. You also control the population by attracting dwellers, mating them or kicking them out/strategically get them killed. You can also craft themes for certain rooms to make your vault more personalized. They also change themes automatically during Christmas and other holidays.

What is it?

This is the second out of the three Clay gel cleansers that L’Oreal released this year. It is orange, so you can tell it will match the orange-y brown clay mask that was good for exfoliation. This is no different, as it is an exfoliating cleanser. It contains three different clays including Moroccan lava clay, just like the other two cleansers, and red algae. It is supposed to stimulate the skin and help with circulation and whatnot.  On their webpage it says it will “exfoliate and refine rough, clogged pores”. When looking at the ingredients, it has pretty much almost identical ingredients as its mask version.

DSC_0079

How did it work for me?

First off, I was really put off by the color and consistency because it really looked nasty when you held it in your hand or rubbed it on your face. That is why I have no picture of it on my actual face because it’s just really, really awful to look at. Second, the exfoliation in it is a tiny bit rough. It says on the tube that it is for daily use but I honestly wouldn’t recommend that.

DSC_0082

I have the cleansers in rotation where I use one of them each day, so I end up exfoliating every third day and that seems to work fairly well. When I did use it every day it made my skin feel worse and it made me break out here and there because it was too much. If your skin isn’t as sensitive as mine, it could probably work a lot better. I would recommend leaving it on your face for a bit too to let the clay work its magic, or exfoliate and then use one of the other clay masks to get an even better result. I love using this in combination with the black Glow mask.

This one doesn’t have the best scent, but it’s not the worst either, I think the green one wins, or loses that competition. I would recommend this if you want to give your skin a nice exfoliation, just don’t go overboard with it as it can be a bit rough.

Have you tried this cleanser before? Or the mask? What did you think about it?

My current skin care routine

Lise —  November 19, 2017 — 24 Comments

My skin care routine changes rather frequently, and I alternate between products, I go for the ‘lazy’ option quite often and sometimes I use face masks often.. My skin doesn’t like it if I use the same products for an extended period of time so alternating between products that I know work for me is the best solution.

On lazy days I use only Micellar water, a toner and moisturizer, but on regular days I use a proper cleanser first before doing the rest of the steps, sometimes adding in time for a mask too.

Here’s everything I use currently.

Simple Micellar Water, Neutral Skin Tonic, L’Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water

L’Oreal Pure Clay Illuminating, Purifying and Exfoliating Gel Cleansers.

Simple Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser & Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Gel.

I honestly spend more money on skincare than I do on make up, and it has pretty much always been that way. I really hate how oily my skin gets so I’m glad that I have skincare products to prevent and help aid that. I’ve tried to not use cleansers and all but it just feels so disgusting since I get a lot of oil on my nose, forehead and chin. So yeah, if I had to choose between make up and skincare, I would definitely choose skincare.

What would you choose if you had to pick one of the two?

What is it?

The True Match Minerals Powder claims to be a skin improving foundation that consists of 95% minerals. I purchased one in the shade Rose Ivory because I felt that this was the shade that suited me the best. ( It was also the palest shade I could find. I’m pretty much as white as snow when my skin is behaving properly ). It looks a bit dark in the glass jar, as you can see in the picture below. The powder is dispensed through a mesh layer and the instructions says to just dab your brush down in it to pick up the powder. You can end up picking up a whole lot at once so I would definitely recommend to tap off some of the excess before applying it to your face.

DSC_0074

How does it work for me?

In the picture below I have only applied the foundation to one side of my face. I guess you can tell that it is on the left side of the picture, since the skin there is much more even and less red compared to the right side of the picture. My nose is the easiest to see it on, because the camera couldn’t pick up on the redness of my cheeks too well. The day I chose to document this was a very physically heavy day because I help out with stocking dry goods in a grocery store and there is a lot of heavy lifting so I could really get to test it to see how it would last.

PicMonkey Collage

I applied my make up right before 8 in the morning and it looked fine. I couldn’t really take pictures in very natural light because the sun doesn’t really come up until after 9. I then kept the make up on my face throughout work, and took a new picture around 3 in the afternoon. The foundation has stayed on very well, only fading a bit from my nose, making it shiny, and my cheeks, which was mostly due to me wiping sweat off of my face.

DSC_0078

I think it held up pretty well, and it has on other days when I haven’t done as much too and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who prefers powder foundations over regular foundations. My skin can’t handle liquid foundations so powders have been my go to for the past few years. It really feels like I’m wearing nothing at all and it’s really nice!

Have you tried this foundation before? What did you think of it?
