Archives For korres softening cuticle oil

What is it?

Korres softening cuticle oil (also known as Nail Care Myrrh & Almond Oil) is an oil treatment for your nails and cuticles, to soften and remove them. It has 95% natural ingredients and smells pretty much just like almonds. So if you’re not too keen on that, you probably wouldn’t enjoy smelling this one.

Korres is a Greek brand and it is fairly expensive here in Norway so I definitely would expect very good quality at the price point it has. This bottle of nail oil contains 10 ml (0.35 fl.oz) and costs 139 NOK ($17/£13). Luckily you don’t have to use too much at the same time so I guess it could last a while. I’ve been using it over a few weeks and it hasn’t gone down by much yet.

Here’s a cut out of the ingredients listed on their website, you can really see how much good stuff that has been stuffed into this tiny bottle:

Why did I need it?

As you can see in the picture below, the place where I have my work experience is very hand-heavy when it comes to things to do. Most of the time I restock dry goods in a grocery store so there is a lot of cardboard and plastic tearing to get things out of their packaging and it really takes a toll on my nails and fingers. I try to take good care of my hands, always using hand creams and what not but I haven’t been the best at taking care of my nails, so I decided to invest into this oil.

It’s very easy to apply, it comes in a typical nail polish bottle so you just need to open it and brush the oil onto your cuticles and your nails. The instructions says to just apply it, then massage it in but I like to leave it on for at least 20 minutes to let the oil really get into my cuticles and nails to get the most benefits from the ingredients in it.

The result?

My nails definitely end up looking more hydrated and healthier, and it also helps for the dry skin around the nails. It also leaves them smelling like almonds and I think it’s really cozy for some weird reason. It does what it promises to do, however it’s not a very long lasting result and it says on the bottle to use it frequently for the best results. It is a good quick fix though. I just wish it was a tiny bit cheaper, or that the effect of it lasted a bit longer than it does. It’s not terrible though!

So yeah, that’s my experience with this nail oil! Have you tried it before? Or do you have recommendations for other oils that work well? Let me know!
