Outfit of the day

Lise —  October 16, 2017 — 5 Comments

I’m so bad at posts like these! I never know what to write, because my clothes are just plain and that’s the way I like it. 90% of it is black so it doesn’t really show up too well either in pictures.

Anyways, what I’m wearing is a powder pink hoodie from H&M, a black tunic from H&M and my crescent moon necklace (from Wish) just to add in some color. That’s my solution for everything too, too much black? Wear a necklace. Seems to work well.

Pairing that with black leggings from H&M. I hate wearing proper pants so black leggings is the way to go. That or jeggings or treggings or whatever they are called.

And lastly some super cute winter shoes I bought off of eBay. They cost around 100 NOK ( roughtly £10 ) and they are so soft and warm. They’re black with white fur inside, and they have black bows on the side. I don’t think they will be great for wet, sloppy snow but they will work when it’s more dry outside.

What are you wearing today?

Favorite childhood memories

Lise —  October 15, 2017 — 4 Comments
  • Visiting Walt Disney World in Florida when I was 6 years old. I remember seeing a 3D muppets show, watching the fireworks and eating so much candy floss that I felt sick. We also rented a house and there was a massive pool there.
  • Spending the summers in a caravan, having all my friends around, being able to go swimming whenever we felt like it. As we got older it turned into getting drunk and going swimming instead. Still fun.
  • Visiting my grandparents during the summer. Their garden was so big, and they always had Rhubarb ready to be picked and eaten with some sugar. They also had a small pond where the birds would come and bathe in and we loved watching that.
  • The year when I was in the accident that injured my leg for life (1999), I got so many birthday presents.. I’ve never received so many before and I remember being so happy that so many people were thinking of me when I was in the hospital.
  • Receiving my favorite cat back in 2005. I had found his mother famished the year before and gave her to some people who sheltered cats. They nursed her back to health, discovered she was with kittens and then during the summer of 2005 we got her back along with my favorite little guy. He’s not so small anymore but still my favorite out of the three I have.

  • Going on Christmas holidays to Tenerife. We wen’t about every other year from 2000~ish to 2013. I miss going there, it was nice to gather the family and go somewhere together. Now my brother is married and has moved far away so we can’t do like a traditional family holiday anymore.
  • Christmas Day lunches at my grandparents place. Every year the whole family would gather in their house for a Christmas Day lunch. It was always salmon, fully roasted and lovely. Sadly, both of my grandparents have passed away so we don’t really continue the tradition, it doesn’t feel right without them.
  • Visiting the grocery store with my grandma. She would always buy us these small lollipops and they were so good. Mum wouldn’t let us have candy on the weekdays but grandma always kept it a secret.

Throwback Thursday

Lise —  October 12, 2017 — 12 Comments

This throwback won’t go very far, just back to the Christmas holiday of 2016, leading up to New years. Christmas is pretty much my favorite holiday, although I’ve always had to work during it. This year I will finally have some time off so I’m looking forward to it while reminiscing about last years Christmas. My sister invited us over to her apartment for Christmas so that will be fun.

Besides working, I spent my time making hot chocolates, baking gingerbread cookies, and then I spent some of new years eve playing a game called Year Walk, which is based on Swedish folk lore. It’s rather creepy but also very cool, and it contains a lot of puzzles and symbols you need to remember, as you can see by the drawings I did on my hand. Afterwards I went outside to watch the fireworks, it was really nice.

I’m just hoping this year will be as good, hopefully even better!
What would be featured in your Throwback Thursday?

It’s always so difficult to think of things to put on a list like this! I guess I’ll just do general facts and hope no one knows them already, hah.

  1. I was born on August 21st, 1991 as the middle child in my family.
  2. I was in a major accident in August in 1999, where I was injured for life. I almost lost my leg, had to learn to walk again and I’m full of scars and my left leg is somewhat disfigured but functional.
  3. I have had cats for as long as I can remember. My current cats are 10, 12 and 15 years old. The two youngest are half brothers (They have the same mother. I don’t know if they know, but they are stuck together like glue, never leaving each other’s side.)
  4. When I was six, our parents brought us to Disney World in Florida. I can’t remember much from it, but I remember the house we rented and tasting alligators in Gatorland. It’s weird how memory works.
  5. When I graduated from high school, I had one of the highest grades.. Then college came around, my teacher hated me and I got the lowest grades for pretty much anything I handed in.
  6. I used to binge drink alcohol all the time.. Never said no to a party. Then, some years ago I realized I hated how alcohol made me feel, so I stopped drinking all together.
  7. Autumn is my favorite season. I love that it gets darker, because that means people with decorate with lights outside. I love listening to the rain all the time, and I won’t have to feel bad about spending my time inside.. I also don’t have to keep my curtains shut to keep the sun out anymore.
  8. I’m somewhat addicted to collecting succulents. Sadly, a couple of them has perished but the ones I have left thrive more than ever. I suppose I need to invest in a few more soon.
  9. I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I still dont… I kind of want to work in a library, work with translating texts or work in an archive.. Not too keen on working with people so those are the best options.
  10. I really don’t like talking about myself. My anxiety always makes me feel like nothing I say is worth listening to so I tend to only listen in conversations, not really participating with anything new.

Is there anything people don’t know about you?

A day in the life

What do I do in a day?

I wake up somewhere between 6 am and 8 am, depending on how much I have to do. This particular day I woke up at about 7:30. I had a quick breakfast before turning on some music and getting ready for a work experience day. I always start my day with listening to Angels and Airwaves, both because their music is really relaxing and because Tom Delonge is one of my favorite singers.

While I listen to that, I do my hair, I cleanse my face, I put on some make up if I need to, to make sure I look somewhat presentable. Most of the time I just fill in my brows, put on a lipstick and go out like that. I’ve also found that if i ‘blot’ my t-zone with setting powder when I do no foundation days, I get less oily overall.

After getting ready I drive off to my schedules for the day, and arrive home many hours later, tired and eating dinner before retiring to my room to read. I love snacking on satsumas while reading.. And listening to music, or ASMR. After reading for a little bit, I usually do chores like cleaning, doing laundry, and then having a shower before returning to my favorite reading chair.

I really love having scented candles, currently I have one smelling like “clean cotton” and one smelling like “firewood”. I alternate between “firewood” and “mahogany”. I also love anything sandalwood, or just woodsy scents in general. (The framed poster in the background is a diagram of the moon with a lot of facts and whatnot)

So that’s usually what I do in a day. Now and then the reading is traded for video games, or more cleaning.. It really depends on my mood and how tired I am from my schedules. Exciting, huh? Not really, but I enjoy my own company and I enjoy reading the most.
