Archives For blog

It’s always so difficult to think of things to put on a list like this! I guess I’ll just do general facts and hope no one knows them already, hah.

  1. I was born on August 21st, 1991 as the middle child in my family.
  2. I was in a major accident in August in 1999, where I was injured for life. I almost lost my leg, had to learn to walk again and I’m full of scars and my left leg is somewhat disfigured but functional.
  3. I have had cats for as long as I can remember. My current cats are 10, 12 and 15 years old. The two youngest are half brothers (They have the same mother. I don’t know if they know, but they are stuck together like glue, never leaving each other’s side.)
  4. When I was six, our parents brought us to Disney World in Florida. I can’t remember much from it, but I remember the house we rented and tasting alligators in Gatorland. It’s weird how memory works.
  5. When I graduated from high school, I had one of the highest grades.. Then college came around, my teacher hated me and I got the lowest grades for pretty much anything I handed in.
  6. I used to binge drink alcohol all the time.. Never said no to a party. Then, some years ago I realized I hated how alcohol made me feel, so I stopped drinking all together.
  7. Autumn is my favorite season. I love that it gets darker, because that means people with decorate with lights outside. I love listening to the rain all the time, and I won’t have to feel bad about spending my time inside.. I also don’t have to keep my curtains shut to keep the sun out anymore.
  8. I’m somewhat addicted to collecting succulents. Sadly, a couple of them has perished but the ones I have left thrive more than ever. I suppose I need to invest in a few more soon.
  9. I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I still dont… I kind of want to work in a library, work with translating texts or work in an archive.. Not too keen on working with people so those are the best options.
  10. I really don’t like talking about myself. My anxiety always makes me feel like nothing I say is worth listening to so I tend to only listen in conversations, not really participating with anything new.

Is there anything people don’t know about you?

oct goals

Finish reading these. Anything with a strike through them was from the past month’s reading list and have been completed. I feel like the list just grows bigger and bigger each time, I really need to dedicate more time to reading. Maybe. I guess at least five books a month is good, right? It could have been way worse.

  • Daughter of the drow by Elaine Cunningham
  • American Gods by Neil Gaiman (Started but didn’t finish)
  • A Warriors Journey by Paul Thompson and Tonya Cook
  • Last flight by Liane Merciel
  • The Masked empire by Patrick Weekes
  • War for the oaks by Emma Bull
  • Death from a top hat by Clayton Rawson
  • The nature of the universe by Fred Hoyle
  • Saturn by Ben Bova
  • Terrifying Tales by Edgar Allan Poe
  • The Invisible Man by H.G Wells
  • Coraline by Neil Gaiman
  • Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

Buy more frozen veggies. I tend to never use up any fresh veggies in time, so it would really save me money to buy them frozen. I mostly use them in soups and stews so it wouldn’t really make a difference for me whether they’re fresh or frozen, honestly.

Get better at planning ahead. I often find myself sitting there, just wondering what to do next or what my plan really is. I need to schedule, I need to plan, I need to figure out what to and when to do it. Why is it so difficult when it in theory should be easy? People say you should just enjoy life and live for now, but it stresses me out so badly to not have any plan whatsoever.

Exercise more. Again, always, it’s a constant struggle. At times I feel like I’m doing great, at times I’m doing not so well. I do work out fairly regularly but I guess I’m just not doing enough. Gotta push myself to be better. It’s a struggle but it should definitely be possible.

Stop being impulsive. Especially when it comes to purchasing things. I need to think twice before buying something. Do i really need it? Will I use it more than once before discarding or abandoning it? I’ve never been good at that and I’ve often purchased something just because I think I need it at that moment. Then I never use it again… I hope I’m not the only one so I can stop feeling so bad about it.

Do even better at this work program. I’ve been attending weekly meetings, going on weekly hikes and walks with a group of people, I’ve been working out and now I’m getting more work experience by helping out at a grocery store a few times a week. It is definitely better than having nothing to do and I’m really looking forward to getting more work experience from other places too. I’ve worked at a grocery store before and it wasn’t my favorite thing to do but it’s way better than nothing. Plus, the more I do the more money I get.

Spending less. That was one of my goals for September, and I really have! I guess it’s a given since I’ve had no income, but I’ve been very good at sparsely using any money. I’ve only purchased what is absolutely necessary. Sadly my skin has suffered from that since I can’t afford the luxury of the skincare products I’ve used.. Really looking forward to getting back on track with that when I get paid this month!

What are your goals for October?

  • Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice.
  • Nominate 10 – 20 people.
  • Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog.

This award was created by Okoto Enigma and it was created for the purpose of bringing bloggers together and allowing them to communicate which I think is really fun and a great idea.

 3 things about me

  • I love Autumn, it makes me feel so at peace. I love it when it gets darker, when the leaves fall down and the world just prepares itself for winter. I love cozy sweaters, thick stockings, hot chocolate and anything else related to Autumn.
  • I don’t really give up easily, but I often feel defeated.
  • I can’t stand to talk on the phone. I hate talking to people over voice but not being able to see their reaction to what I say.

Questions from Grace

  • What inspired you to start a blog? The possibility of having a creative outlet. I’ve been reading blogs for years and finally decided I wanted one of my own so that I could share reviews and my thoughts on a variety of subjects.
  • How are you feeling today? I’m feeling okay! Been feeling a bit under the weather lately but it is picking up again. I’m also slightly nervous about a meeting I have to go to about work opportunities tomorrow.
  • What film can you watch over and over without getting bored of it? Howl’s moving castle. It has been my favorite film for so long and I don’t think I will ever get bored of it ever.
  • Someone that you admire and why? I admire all of the people out there fighting for their rights. No one deserves to be oppressed, to have their rights revoked or being treated like a lesser human being.
  • What is your favourite food? Good question! I feel like anything pasta or anything that has to do with potatoes. They are both very versatile food items and you can make a big variety of meals with them. I don’t really have one particular dish that I like the most.

My best post(s)

What goes into this one? The ones that have done well statistically or posts that I personally like the most? I guess I can link the ones that have received the most comments over the past year and a half.

My questions for you

  • What would be the title of your autobiography?
  • Is there an album you feel like totally represents you?
  • Is there a movie franchise (or just a single movie) you would love to be in?
  • If you had the chance to see yourself from someone else’s perspective, would you do it?
  • Have you ever thought about owning an exotic pet?

So, today is my 26th birthday! Time flies by so fast, it feels like I turned 18 just yesterday. I have seen many posts like these and I think they are all so interesting, so I wanted to try to do one myself! Here we go;

  1. No matter what happens, time will keep moving so it’s better to look ahead than get hung up on the past.
  2. The tiny pocket in our jeans was made for pocket watches.
  3. There’s no real reason as to why the alphabet is in the order it is.
  4. Cats do in fact not have nine lives, though I believed that for many years.
  5. You can never be prepared for a break up, even if it is your decision.
  6. You can rarely trust anyone but yourself.
  7. If you are slightly colorblind when it comes to blue and yellow, playing guitar hero is really difficult.
  8. You will only be as old as you feel.
  9. It’s not really that important to have a relationship, you can do just as fine on your own.
  10. Travel whenever you can, it’s better to buy experiences.
  11. Whatever you do to others, they will do to you, whether it’s being nice or nasty.
  12. Always keep copies of important documents.
  13. Keep your receipts, you never know when you will need them or if something will need to be brought back.
  14. Never keep your phone in loose pockets.
  15. Lactic acid has nothing to do with dairy.
  16. If you speak a second language enough, you’ll slowly lose your knowledge of your first language.
  17. Reading books truly helps your writing.
  18. Our phones are advanced enough to take great photos, there isn’t always a need for investing in cameras.
  19. Succulents can be both easy and difficult to care for depending on if they have the same watering schedules.
  20. Cats make everything so dusty.
  21. Never cut contact with all of your peers just because you enter a relationship. If it ends, you have no one.
  22. Don’t let hate or rumors get to you, you know the truth.
  23. It’s okay to be negative, or to feel down. We all experience emotions, good or bad.
  24. It’s okay to start over, with school, with work, with anything.
  25. You’ll never truly know what you want to do with your life.
  26. Never take anything for granted.

That was the first twenty six things that came to mind! Do you have anything you have learned over the years that you have lived?

Liebster Award #4

July 21, 2017 — 11 Comments

img_0905

I was nominated for another Liebster Award! This time it was from the lovely Grace who can be found over at Thatfeelinginside, you can read her post here. Thank you so much for thinking about me. ♥

The rules:

  • Display the award, and thank your nominator.
  • Answer the nominators questions and give 11 random facts about yourself. (I couldn’t even think of anything new for the facts, sorry!)
  • Nominate 11 blogs.
  • Notify them.
  • Give them 11 questions to answer.

Grace’s questions:

  1. What is your dream job?
My dream job would be working with languages, whether it was interpreting or translating, correcting, subtitling something, anything!
  2. What is the most unusual food you’ve ever eaten?
Alligators! I mean, it’s not unusual where they are native to the fauna but for someone from the countryside in Norway, Alligators are very unusual. I had it while visiting Gatorland in Florida.
  3. Who inspires you the most?
My friends and everyone I’ve gotten to know here, reading their blogs and seeing their accomplishments always inspire me.
  4. What does your perfect evening consist of?
This could go one of two ways: I either spend my time alone exploring new video games, read a good book or pamper myself, or I go out having a good time with friends, chatting, having some wine, being social.
  5. What’s your favourite colour?
My favorite color has always been a light pink, but lately blue has been my favorite when it comes to make up, along with gold. It changes frequently but pink will always be “the one”.
  6. If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?
Them lovely people over at Bethesda, I’d like to have a lovely chat with them over a candle lit dinner, admit my love for their games and beg for the sixth installment of the Elder Scrolls games to be published soon.
  7. Favourite thing about yourself?
My eyes! I guess it’s not really a “thing” but it’s the one part of myself I truly like.
  8. Something that never fails to cheer you up?
Videos of cute kittens! Whenever I feel down, they’re always there on youtube to help me feel better. Snuggling with my cats in real life helps a lot too!
  9. Favourite junk food?
Anything from Burger King? Pizza? I don’t know, I don’t really eat junk food that often to be honest! I mean, I try to make healthy pizzas full of veggies and whatnot but I suppose it counts as junk anyways?
  10. Celebrity crush?
Meg Myers, I guess? I love everything about that woman, she is amazing! ♥ If you haven’t heard of her, she’s an artist who has kind of dark indie-ish songs.
  11. Do you have any hobbies?
Reading, writing, playing video games, drawing.. Going for bike rides, does that count as a hobby? Sobbing into my food while watching sad videos? The last one was kind of a joke but I do this more often than I probably should.

My questions for you:

  1. Is there anything you believed to be true that you found out wasn’t true at all?
  2. If you had the opportunity to start a chain of businesses, what kind of business would it be?
  3. What would be your personal theme song?
  4. If you could be the president of the United States for one term, would you do it? If not, why not?
  5. What is your favorite childhood memory?
  6. Do you have a life hack you think no one else really uses?
  7. What is on your bucket list this year?
  8. What is your idea of the perfect vacation?
  9. What was the worst phase in life for you?
  10. Do you believe in reincarnation?
  11. Would you say you portray yourself differently online than in real life?

My questions are all random and weird, but that’s just how it is! I have done these so many times now that I don’t even know who to nominate anymore so I’ll just nominate whoever reads this! Tag, you’re it! Let me know if you’re going to do this in the comments below.
