It’s always so difficult to think of things to put on a list like this! I guess I’ll just do general facts and hope no one knows them already, hah.

  1. I was born on August 21st, 1991 as the middle child in my family.
  2. I was in a major accident in August in 1999, where I was injured for life. I almost lost my leg, had to learn to walk again and I’m full of scars and my left leg is somewhat disfigured but functional.
  3. I have had cats for as long as I can remember. My current cats are 10, 12 and 15 years old. The two youngest are half brothers (They have the same mother. I don’t know if they know, but they are stuck together like glue, never leaving each other’s side.)
  4. When I was six, our parents brought us to Disney World in Florida. I can’t remember much from it, but I remember the house we rented and tasting alligators in Gatorland. It’s weird how memory works.
  5. When I graduated from high school, I had one of the highest grades.. Then college came around, my teacher hated me and I got the lowest grades for pretty much anything I handed in.
  6. I used to binge drink alcohol all the time.. Never said no to a party. Then, some years ago I realized I hated how alcohol made me feel, so I stopped drinking all together.
  7. Autumn is my favorite season. I love that it gets darker, because that means people with decorate with lights outside. I love listening to the rain all the time, and I won’t have to feel bad about spending my time inside.. I also don’t have to keep my curtains shut to keep the sun out anymore.
  8. I’m somewhat addicted to collecting succulents. Sadly, a couple of them has perished but the ones I have left thrive more than ever. I suppose I need to invest in a few more soon.
  9. I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I still dont… I kind of want to work in a library, work with translating texts or work in an archive.. Not too keen on working with people so those are the best options.
  10. I really don’t like talking about myself. My anxiety always makes me feel like nothing I say is worth listening to so I tend to only listen in conversations, not really participating with anything new.

Is there anything people don’t know about you?

I am thankful for…

  • Having a roof over my head.
  • Having my three sweet cats who can always make me feel better.
  • iFokus, a work training company that took me under its wing.
  • Everyone I have gotten to know through WordPress. I feel like you all understand me better than people ‘in real life’ does. You’re all so supportive and I feel so blessed for having you in my life.
  • Makeup Revolution for having such reasonable prices. Makes me feel less bad about purchasing make up when their products start out at as low as £1.
  • My father, for allowing me to borrow a bit of money from him until I’m back on my feet.
  • My car for still working after 20 years of existing. It has a leak that I have no idea how to fix (even my dad is stumped, and he’s a mechanic). I just hope it will pull through for another 20 years.. I’m so emotionally attached to it.
  • My work counselor, for always pushing me further and making me face my demons. It has really helped with my anxiety and I’m so grateful.
  • Books, they’re always there to help me escape into a wonderful world.. Though a lot of what I read is post-apocalyptic or similar so maybe it’s not that wonderful.. Heh.

What are you thankful for?

It’s not really that interesting!

I started blogging on this one in the month of May in 2016, and before that I have had countless blogs on other platforms. I have never been happy with the blog name because I usually just picked something random that didn’t really represent me in any way. With this one, it was different, because I wanted to combine my two biggest loves at the time; My love for Lush, and my (seemingly) endless creativity. That’s how I came up with Lushtivity.

However, my interests have changed, I don’t have the proper economy to invest in Lush products anymore and I feel like I’m not as creative anymore so in some ways, the name doesn’t fit my blog anymore. I have no idea what I could ever change it to, and I have a custom domain for it so just changing the blog name would definitely be a hassle at this point. I still sometimes post about Lush, I recently did with a face mask I received from Storm as a birthday present, so my love is still there, it’s just not as prominent as it was before.

So, yeah! That was the story behind the name. As I said, it’s not that interesting, and a bit dumb, and I really wish I could have just changed it before renewing my custom domain.. But I guess that is something to do in the future when it expires, as for now I’ll just embrace what I have and make the most of it.

What is the story behind your blog name?

Finish reading these. Anything with a strike through them was from the past month’s reading list and have been completed. I feel like the list just grows bigger and bigger each time, I really need to dedicate more time to reading. Maybe. I guess at least five books a month is good, right? It could have been way worse.

  • Daughter of the drow by Elaine Cunningham
  • American Gods by Neil Gaiman (Started but didn’t finish)
  • A Warriors Journey by Paul Thompson and Tonya Cook
  • Last flight by Liane Merciel
  • The Masked empire by Patrick Weekes
  • War for the oaks by Emma Bull
  • Death from a top hat by Clayton Rawson
  • The nature of the universe by Fred Hoyle
  • Saturn by Ben Bova
  • Terrifying Tales by Edgar Allan Poe
  • The Invisible Man by H.G Wells
  • Coraline by Neil Gaiman
  • Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

Buy more frozen veggies. I tend to never use up any fresh veggies in time, so it would really save me money to buy them frozen. I mostly use them in soups and stews so it wouldn’t really make a difference for me whether they’re fresh or frozen, honestly.

Get better at planning ahead. I often find myself sitting there, just wondering what to do next or what my plan really is. I need to schedule, I need to plan, I need to figure out what to and when to do it. Why is it so difficult when it in theory should be easy? People say you should just enjoy life and live for now, but it stresses me out so badly to not have any plan whatsoever.

Exercise more. Again, always, it’s a constant struggle. At times I feel like I’m doing great, at times I’m doing not so well. I do work out fairly regularly but I guess I’m just not doing enough. Gotta push myself to be better. It’s a struggle but it should definitely be possible.

Stop being impulsive. Especially when it comes to purchasing things. I need to think twice before buying something. Do i really need it? Will I use it more than once before discarding or abandoning it? I’ve never been good at that and I’ve often purchased something just because I think I need it at that moment. Then I never use it again… I hope I’m not the only one so I can stop feeling so bad about it.

Do even better at this work program. I’ve been attending weekly meetings, going on weekly hikes and walks with a group of people, I’ve been working out and now I’m getting more work experience by helping out at a grocery store a few times a week. It is definitely better than having nothing to do and I’m really looking forward to getting more work experience from other places too. I’ve worked at a grocery store before and it wasn’t my favorite thing to do but it’s way better than nothing. Plus, the more I do the more money I get.

Spending less. That was one of my goals for September, and I really have! I guess it’s a given since I’ve had no income, but I’ve been very good at sparsely using any money. I’ve only purchased what is absolutely necessary. Sadly my skin has suffered from that since I can’t afford the luxury of the skincare products I’ve used.. Really looking forward to getting back on track with that when I get paid this month!

 3 things about me

  • I love Autumn, it makes me feel so at peace. I love it when it gets darker, when the leaves fall down and the world just prepares itself for winter. I love cozy sweaters, thick stockings, hot chocolate and anything else related to Autumn.
  • I don’t really give up easily, but I often feel defeated.
  • I can’t stand to talk on the phone. I hate talking to people over voice but not being able to see their reaction to what I say.

Questions from Grace

  • What inspired you to start a blog? The possibility of having a creative outlet. I’ve been reading blogs for years and finally decided I wanted one of my own so that I could share reviews and my thoughts on a variety of subjects.
  • How are you feeling today? I’m feeling okay! Been feeling a bit under the weather lately but it is picking up again. I’m also slightly nervous about a meeting I have to go to about work opportunities tomorrow.
  • What film can you watch over and over without getting bored of it? Howl’s moving castle. It has been my favorite film for so long and I don’t think I will ever get bored of it ever.
  • Someone that you admire and why? I admire all of the people out there fighting for their rights. No one deserves to be oppressed, to have their rights revoked or being treated like a lesser human being.
  • What is your favourite food? Good question! I feel like anything pasta or anything that has to do with potatoes. They are both very versatile food items and you can make a big variety of meals with them. I don’t really have one particular dish that I like the most.

My best post(s)

What goes into this one? The ones that have done well statistically or posts that I personally like the most? I guess I can link the ones that have received the most comments over the past year and a half.

My questions for you

  • What would be the title of your autobiography?
  • Is there an album you feel like totally represents you?
  • Is there a movie franchise (or just a single movie) you would love to be in?
  • If you had the chance to see yourself from someone else’s perspective, would you do it?
  • Have you ever thought about owning an exotic pet?
