The Happiness Tag

August 7, 2017 — 17 Comments

I was tagged in this by my friend Rylie, but she didn’t want her blog linked because she writes about very personal subjects so I’m afraid I can’t do that! But thank you for the nomination either way, I really appreciate it.

The rules for this tag

  • List five things that makes you happy
  • Share five songs that makes you happy
  • Tag at least five bloggers that makes you happy

What makes me happy

  1. My cats. I don’t know what I would have done without them. They are always there if I need someone to vent to (even though they can’t talk back, I still talk to them about anything I need to). They are always there if I need something to hold, something to cuddle with to cheer me up. I love them more than anything in this world. They say cats are selfish but mine are far from it.
  2. Books. I love being able to read. Being able to escape to another world for a little while. Same goes for video games. Escapism is very much a real thing for me and a lot of the time it happens without me even noticing.
  3. Being able to connect with people all over the world. I live in a place with very few people and meeting new people is a difficult task. That is why I am so grateful for having the internet, being able to connect with others without having to travel to a place to do so. I guess ‘without restrictions’ is what I meant to say.
  4. Nature. Nature makes me happy. I love being outside, I love exploring the woods, walking through fields, picking the occasional berry as I walk past them. Nature is wonderful and the fresh air can always make you feel better. (Apart from during the pollen season, I always feel like death then).
  5. Being organized, that always makes me happy. I hate being messy, I hate not having things neatly put in place. Having a clean and organized home is my favorite feeling. It really helps me with feeling accomplished in life. Doesn’t matter how messy my head is as long as my home is clean.

Five songs that makes me happy

I don’t really have any overly joyful happy songs, so I’ll share some that makes me feel content, makes me feel wholesome. I think I have shared all of these before, but my favorites rarely change.

  1. Pvris – Half
  2. Meg Myers – Motel
  3. Blink 182 – I Miss you
  4. Highly Suspect – Bath Salts
  5. Chaos Chaos – Do you feel it

Five bloggers that makes me happy

I guess it’s more than 5, oops. And in no particular order.

  1. Michala
  2. Karalee
  3. Reeva
  4. Rei
  5. Storm
  6. Grace
  7. DanniiJane ( you can just share your response in the comments, it probably doesnt fit in with the travel blogs 🙂 )

The 5 rules are:

Thank the person who nominated you
Answer the questions sent by the person who nominated you
Nominate other bloggers
Write them new questions
List the rules and let other bloggers know you have nominated them.

I was nominated for this by Cassandra in her post over at HappinessInLipstick! Thank you so much, I really appreciate that you thought of me for this one. I really enjoy doing these little challenges.

The questions Cassandra asked:

  1. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?
Only one thing? Well, I guess I would go with Pizza because you can make it  in so many different ways and use so many different toppings for it!
  2. If you were stranded on an island and could only bring 5 things what would they be?
A water filter, a lighter or matches, a swiss army knife, a flashlight and tinned food.
  3. Why did you start blogging?
Because I wanted a place where I could write down my thoughts! And I wanted to share my opinions on products and other things. I’m really happy that I did because I have met so many wonderful people.
  4. Tell us one thing that is unique about you.
I have a rare skin disease called Diffuse Systemic Sclerosis, that’s kinda unique, right?
  5. Wheres your favorite place to go?
My favorite place to go is England.. Or Scotland.. I guess the UK as a whole! The nature is wonderful, it’s fairly cheap, the beer is good and they have so much allergy friendly food.

My questions for my nominees:

  1. If you had to choose just one make up product to wear for the rest of your life, what would you choose?
  2. What would you say is your main goal for this year?
  3. If you could go back in time to change one thing, what would it be?
  4. Where do you see yourself in ten years?
  5. What is your favorite thing to blog about?

My nominees:

( I guess it was supposed to be just 5 to keep the theme going, woops. Also, you don’t have to do a whole post, you could just reply to the questions in the comments.)

  1. Storm
  2. Rei
  3. Michala
  4. Karalee
  5. DanniiJane
  6. Halsdoll
  7. AbbyUppington

Thank you so much to Thebeauty&Foodlab for nominating me! ♥

There seems to be two varieties of this award floating around, one about how you started your blog, and another of your journey as a blogger. I have been nominated for this particular variety once before, so i’ll redo my answer and elaborate on it!

-Thank the blogger who nominated you while providing a link to the blog site.
-Discuss the reason for starting the blog and talk a little bit about it.
-Give 2 advices to fellow bloggers/readers.
-Nominate 15 bloggers who you think deserve this accolade.
-Inform all the nominees by commenting on their blog.

Why I started my blog:

I needed a place to put my thoughts at first, but then i started feeling a bit uncomfortable with sharing so much of them. I don’t like sharing too much of my personal life online, because I have had really bad experiences with it throughout the years. So then, since I had been writing product reviews for a survey page for quite some time beforehand and i realized i loved it, I incorporated that into my blogging instead. I’m really happy that i did because this is still keeping my interest after a few months, something that rarely happens. My blog is now a good mixture between reviews, posts about games, make up, books and whatnot. Hopefully that is still interesting to people.

Advice to new bloggers:

  1. Do not get hung up on the numbers. You might get a lot of visits and likes one day, then fewer the next. That is just how the algorithms work, people are online at certain times, on certain days. Plus if you keep a regular schedule, you will of course get the most views on the days when your posts are published.
  2. Write for yourself, write what makes you happy. Don’t change just because you feel like others expect you to, keep doing you and the people who like that will come around. But if you feel unhappy with your content and you need to change it, don’t worry about what others might think and just do it.
  3. Don’t blog to be ‘famous’, blog because it’s fun.
  4. Take good use of the community! Comment on blogs, like posts, interact with others, you’ll make great acquaintances!

As for nominations, I’ll nominate whoever reads this because I have done this four times now and I don’t want to accidentally re-nominate someone who did this recently! So, you’re next!

Day 2. Favourite Christmas tradition.

My favorite tradition was the entirety of Christmas Eve itself. In the morning we would wake up to watch the Disney Christmas specials on the telly, then we would clean the house and set the tables after breakfast. Then mum would start cooking and preparing the food and we would stay occupied until it was time for dinner.

During dinner it would be so quiet because everyone was busy eating, and no one really had anything else to say than “Oh this was quite good!”

After dinner we would have like an hour of downtime to let the food set in our tummies before it was time for dessert. Mum would make rice pudding and god knows what else and we would eat until we were so full that we barely were able to open our presents.

Another hour would pass after the dessert was done and someone would be too impatient to wait any longer. One person would take the role as the present giver and would hand them out one by one, letting one open theirs before moving on to the next. Opening and handing out gifts never really took a long time since we were a small family (even smaller now after a lot of family members have passed away) and we would be done in like half an hour.

After everything was done people would either fall asleep because they were so full, watch the telly until they fell asleep or do anything else until the same thing happened. So that is Christmas for me, eating so much until you knock out.

Sadly, as i grew older and had to work every Christmas Eve i haven’t gotten to experience it like this in ages. I’m just wishing for it to happen again soon.

What is your favourite Christmas tradition?
