Archives For 12 days of christmas

Day 11. What was your favorite childhood Christmas present?

I got him in the summer of 2005, but he was intended to be a Christmas present ♥ He is now 11 and a half years old and I love him so much.

Day 12. What are you grateful for this Christmas?

I am grateful for the support from my friends and family, I’m grateful that i have a home to celebrate Christmas in. I’m grateful for everything my grandmother did for us before passing away. I’m grateful for you guys who are always here.. Thank you. I could probably continue writing forever, but that wouldn’t be much fun to read at all!

What are you grateful for this Christmas?

Day 9. Who will be sitting with you for Christmas dinner?

This year we won’t be many at all. After my Grandmothers passing we’re down by one, my brother is celebrating with his Fiance’s family and everyone else in our family are having their own celebrations. So we are just going to be my mother, my father, my sister and I. And our three cats, of course. A small party but I guess it’s enough, I’m working every day from Christmas Eve until New Years anyways.

Day 10. Favorite Christmas movie or song.

I’m just going to share my all time favorite Christmas song. Plus one that i find interesting, its not really a Christmas song but it’s so obscure and weird.

Chris Rea – Driving home for Christmas

Bilgeri – Silver bell

What is your favorite Christmas song?

Day 8. Share a local Christmas tradition in your town or country

Well.. the first thing that comes to mind is one that happens about a week before Christmas, in Norwegian it is called Nissefest or Juletrefest. Everyone gathers at the community center and they serve rice pudding with cinnamon, sugar and butter for free. This is something that is arranged mainly for the children, because after everyone finishes eating, they sing Christmas songs, hold hands while walking around a massive Christmas tree and after that someone dressed as Santa shows up to hand out bags of candy to the children.

I really enjoyed this when i was younger and i wish it was possible to participate still as an adult. But since i don’t have children of my own, i would just go for the free rice pudding and that’s not as fun. I will definitely participate if i have any children one day though!

The image is borrowed from google, but that’s pretty much how it was, holding hands and singing Christmas songs while walking around the tree!

Does your town/country have any particular traditions?

Sorry for the delay in posts, my grandmother passed away recently and i needed some time off.

Day 6. Share a fond childhood Christmas memory

I think the only thing i remember about Christmas when i was younger was celebrating it with my grandparents. They have both sadly passed away now so we cannot ever celebrate it with them again, but the memories are still as strong.

We would all gather in their old house, decorate the Christmas tree, stuff all of our gifts under it and then watch cartoons until it was time to eat. Then we would listen to stories told by my grandfather, they could be about anything. Then we had dessert, opened presents and just spent time together until it was time for bed.

Day 7. A photo day, share some Christmas pictures, past or present.

I don’t have any pictures from previous Christmas celebrations, and this years’ hasn’t happened yet, so have some Christmas-ish pictures instead!

Day 5. What is on your personal wish list this year?

  1. Urban Decay’s Moondust palette
  2. Lush Smuggler’s Soul body spray
  3. This chandelier lamp
  4. More succulents! Having 5 just wont cut it for me.
  5. Also wishing for a better job!
  6. And lastly, wishing for a white Christmas. All of our snow vanished.

What do you wish for this Christmas?
